The Canadian Institute for Public Safety Research & Treatment (CIPSRT) at the University of Regina serves as the Knowledge Exchange Hub for knowledge synthesis, translation and exchange that relies upon the best contemporary research evidence supporting an overall mission to help current and former public safety personnel, their leaders, and their families to maintain and improve their mental health and well-being.
Reporting to the Director, Operations and Finance, Canadian Institute for Public Safety Research and Treatment (CIPSRT), the Program Coordinator’s key responsibilities are the coordination, administration, execution, and reporting of key initiatives within the research unit to Public Safety Canada, contract renewals and vendor evaluations, ; assist in the development of partnerships; and support the development and execution of a strategic marketing and communication plan and implementation plans for programs and seminars. Support researching relevant topic areas based on emerging stakeholder needs; conducting risk assessments to ensure program viability; as well as assisting in seeking partnerships. Participation as a team member in daily office procedures, meetings, committees, and special events is also required.
What You’ll Do:
  • Coordination, administration, development and reporting of key initiatives to Public Safety Canada.
  • New course and program development including formal and informal needs assessment; research and assess feasibility by developing budgets, risk assessments, proposals and recommendations to Manager. Leading the development of RFP’s, evaluation criteria, and the evaluation process for vendors required by the research unit.
  • Assist in executing an overall strategic marketing and communication plan for professional development programs, taking into account budgetary allocations; including marketing tactics and strategies, and program-specific implementation plans, to identify and target opportunities for growth through expansion.
  • Ensure contracts and agreements are executed and fulfilled.
  • Represent the CIPSRT on advisory committee meetings and/subcommittee meetings where appropriate.

  • Four-year undergraduate degree. Specialization in business administration or marketing is an asset.
  • Five to seven years of experience in a relevant program management or consulting position and demonstrated success in a cost recovery environment. Project Management knowledge is an asset.
  • A combination of education or experience may be considered.

  • Experience scheduling programs, seminars, and special events required.
  • Demonstrated ability to recruit, hire and provide feedback to contract employees.
  • Demonstrated ability to execute marketing and communication plans.
  • Demonstrated ability to create and manage cost-recovery budgets.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop internal and external partnerships.
  • Demonstrated skill in the use of Microsoft Office.
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize complex data-base systems.
  • Must have excellent written and oral communication.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of university policies and procedure, human resource management principles and practices, collective agreements and trends in University continuing education and business professional development, budgeting and accounting would all be assets.
  • Due to the nature of the administration and marketing activities associated with this position, some evening work and some travel within the city is required. Some travel outside of the city may be required.
  • Remote work is a possibility.
Physical Demands Pay Grade APT 4 Salary Range $64,796.00 to 87,436.00 Annually Status Term Work Hours Monday – Friday, 8:15 am – 4:30 pm.
