MRI/EEG Research Assistant, Radiology

The Department of Radiology in the Cumming School of Medicine invites applications for a MRI/EEG Research Assistant. This Full-time Fixed Term position is for approximately 12 months (based on length of grant funding), with the possibility of extension.
Reporting to the Principal Investigator.
Summary of Key Responsibilities (job functions include but are not limited to):
- Coordinate and administer research activities related to specific magnetic resonance (MR) imaging projects. Responsibilities include subject recruitment, data management and data analysis
- Support MRI research activities, specifically as it relates to the acquisition and analysis of magnetic resonance imaging and electroencephalography (EEG) data
- Requires simultaneous participation in multiple research projects on an ongoing basis
- Under general supervision & direction of the PI, develop and implement original experiments within the guidelines of the research
- Reliable and safe operation of all laboratory equipment
- Train other staff and students in the operation of equipment and laboratory protocols
- Keep laboratory and work area clean and safe
Qualifications / Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of technical experience and completion of post-secondary education in related discipline
- 1 to 3 years of related technical experience within the MRI field
- Perform detailed design, documentation, and implementation of moderately complex technological systems
- Recommend change to processes or procedures
- Provide technical support for other team members through advice on technical lab issues
- Knowledge of theory and practical application of MRI procedures
- Must be open to learning and development, and be willing to accept new challenges and assignments
- Provide semi-skilled to skilled technical procedures to support the research project
- Operate and maintain complex technical equipment
- Requires an aptitude to troubleshoot and repair unfamiliar systems or software through design analysis
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment
