**The Role**:
The Medical Transcriptionist edits speech recognition reports for all diagnostic imaging modalities while collaborating with various departments to foster a seamless workflow to produce the highest level of service to our radiologists and their staff.
**Reporting to**:This position directly reports to the Transcription Supervisor.
**Role Overview**:
- Accurately and timely edits Diagnostic Imaging reports using a digital dictation system for multiple modalities including but not limited to: MRI, Mammography, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, General X-ray, and Pain Management reports using voice recognition technology.
- Transcribes medical letters, when needed;
- Maintains Radiology Information System (RIS) Reporting Lists and ensures that all exams are reported and maintained across all software;
- Ensures the highest level of service delivery with radiologists and referring doctors while maintaining high standards of confidentiality and professionalism;
- Collaborate with numerous departments to resolve technical errors in medical software via KACE Ticket System;
- Update or correct input errors in patient files to ensure data integrity and accuracy;
- Answer phone calls to assist in troubleshooting, resolving issues and serving as a key point of contact for coordination;
- Able to work independently, while contributing to the overall productivity and success of the transcription team;
- Undertakes additional duties as assigned.
**You have the following**:
- Graduate of a recognized Medical Transcription program;
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a Medical Transcriptionist position, preferably in Diagnostic Imaging;
- Experience with digital dictation and/or voice recognition systems;
- Excellent knowledge of medical terminology;
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Microsoft Teams;
- Ability to prioritize STAT work in a time sensitive environment
- Demonstrates ability to learn numerous computer programs quickly and efficiently.
- Familiarity with software programs such as Visage, IMPAX client, Mirth Connector, and/or Astraia is preferred, but not required;
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail;
- Professional attitude and demeanor, including courteous interactions with radiologists and staff
- Strong commitment to ethical standards, integrity, and confidentiality;
- Strong oral and written communication skills;
- Motivated, self-starter with the ability to work independently, as well as a member of our dynamic team;
- Organized individual with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meet deadlines, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
