About The Role

As ATB’s next Director, Card Payments you will be responsible for leading the product management of our consumer card products and inclusive coverages to ensure a competitive product suite and portfolio profitability. The position will focus on leading and guiding product managers to drive the cards product management lifecycle and card profitability growth.

Accountabilities

As Director, Card Payments You Will

  • Lead a team of product managers in order to ensure the card product suite is competitive, understood by team members, supported by operations and ATB’s clients are satisfied with the solutions.
  • Strategic leadership and accountability for the consumer card product roadmaps having considered all aspects of policy, regulations and scheme developments while offsetting against ATB’s technical development capabilities/timelines and business critical direction.
  • Develop and articulate a clear product strategy and vision, aligning the product roadmap with ATB’s larger 10 Year Strategy, Banking Product and Payments goals, market trends and client needs
  • Oversee the consumer card product planning and product development process through cross functional team collaboration, prioritizing key product features/developments, defining requirements and creating long term product road maps
  • Evolve the product and client lifecycle roadmap to drive enhancements to client experiences, growth and retention.
  • Lead and inspire a team of product managers and coordinate their activities to ensure that they meet KPIs while collaborating with cross functional teams at ATB
  • Evolve program KPIs to measure and improve key drivers of the product and client lifecycle programs.
  • Support and mentor a team product managers through understanding the key drivers to ATB’s PnL card growth and acting as a subject matter expert to our business partners
  • Be a strategic thinker with the ability to think through, and deliver, exceptional end-to-end customer experience.
  • Demonstrate exceptional leadership skills to drive execution cross-functionally across all key stakeholders and constituents.
  • Be accountable to peers and the senior leadership team as a subject matter expert through all forms of written and verbal presentations (i.e. periodic commentary and insights, product reviews, business reviews, annual planning, strategic review sessions, development and maintenance of a dashboard, etc.).

Skills, Experience & Requirements

  • Relationship builder and influencer – a team player who can build relationships across all areas of the business
  • 10 or more years of product management experience, at least 5 years in leadership roles, with a track record of successfully managing and launching products
  • A solid understanding of product management processes, experience with waterfall and agile methodologies, product life cycle management, market research and financial analysis
  • Is able to consult, think critically and strategically in order to effectively identify client needs, navigate complex people matters, formulate recommendations and turn insights into action
  • Is able to understand financial and business financial drivers and analysis
  • Is a marketer of products and understands how the portfolio behaves against benchmarks, how lifecycle events impact the portfolio
  • Has led and delivered end to end product development projects in a product lead capacity (bonus for card or payment products) and can demonstrate the ability to provide requirement assessment, planning, team alignment, budget and resource allocation expertise and input
  • Is a people leader, able to teach and guide teammates in learning and understanding card payments and interactions
