We are seeking a highly skilled Telecommunications Line Technician to join our team at Prema Telecom Inc. As a Telecommunications Line Technician, you will be responsible for installing and maintaining aerial and underground telephone equipment, testing equipment to locate transmission faults, and completing and maintaining test and service reports.
The ideal candidate will have 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in the telecommunications industry and a strong understanding of telecommunications principles and practices. You will also be required to climb and work aloft on poles, ladders or other support structures, connect, disconnect and relocate cable outlets, and determine work assignments.
Additional responsibilities include installing cable modems and software to enable Internet access, repairing or replacing faulty cables, power suppliers and amplifiers, splicing, joining and connecting wires, and repairing or replacing defective telephone equipment.
You will be expected to hold a valid driver's license, own transportation, and be willing to travel for extended periods with travel expenses paid by the employer. A First Aid Certificate and Working at Heights Training are also required.
The salary for this position is estimated to be around $50,000 per year, depending on location and experience. If you are a motivated and detail-oriented individual with excellent communication skills and a strong work ethic, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.
