Job Summary

The Government of Nunavut is seeking a highly skilled Senior Policy Analyst to join its team. As a key member of the Policy and Planning Division, you will play a critical role in developing, coordinating, and managing strategic planning, policies, and procedures for the Nunavut Housing Corporation.

Reporting to the Director, Policy and Strategic Planning, you will be responsible for analyzing current housing and related issues, identifying research areas, and integrating and disseminating information to support the Corporation's operations.

You will work closely with national, provincial, and territorial governments, Inuit organizations, and other housing stakeholders to develop interdepartmental initiatives and coordinate divisional involvement.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of policies and programs that impact the lives of Nunavummiut.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and review guidelines, policies, and legislation
  • Produce high-quality briefing materials for the Corporate Executive Committee, the NHC Board of Directors, Executive Council, and the Financial Management Board
  • Support the Director, Policy and Strategic Planning in performing comprehensive assessments of proposed policies and programs
  • Liaise with national, provincial, and territorial governments, Inuit organizations, and other housing stakeholders
  • Coordinate divisional involvement with Government of Nunavut departments and other agencies in developing interdepartmental initiatives
Requirements
  • Master's degree in a field such as Social Sciences, Communications, Economics, Business, or Public Administration
  • Minimum of three years of experience in developing and analyzing public policy and programs
  • Experience in a large organization or government setting, as well as experience supervising and leading work assignments
  • Experience or education in analyzing housing markets is an asset
  • Fluency in more than one of Nunavut's official languages is an asset
