Senior Inuit Employment Specialist

The Nunavut Tunngavik Incorporated seeks a highly skilled professional to fill the role of Director of Inuit Employment and Training. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the effective implementation of Article 23 of the Nunavut Agreement, which aims to achieve at least 85% Inuit representation in all occupation levels and groupings within the Government of Nunavut and the Government of Canada.
The successful candidate will be responsible for researching, analyzing, and preparing policy recommendations related to achieving the objectives of Article 23. This involves coordinating with other NTI departments and staff to implement the May 4, 2015 Settlement Agreement with the Government of Canada and the Government of Nunavut. Additionally, the Director will oversee the effective management of the Mikigiaqta Inuit Training Corporation and its associated funding.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of the Nunavut Agreement and NTI's mandate, as well as experience in developing and managing complex projects, financial management, and policy development. A good understanding of employee recruitment and planning systems, as well as knowledge of government employment philosophies and practices, is also essential. Fluency in Inuktut is a definite asset.
The selected candidate will report to the Chief Executive Officer of NTI, while coordinating with other NTI departments and staff to implement the May 4, 2015 Settlement Agreement with the Government of Canada and the Government of Nunavut. The Director will oversee the effective management of the Mikigiaqta Inuit Training Corporation and its associated funding.
Preference will be given to Inuit enrolled under the Nunavut Agreement.
Nunavut Tunngavik Incorporated offers a competitive salary package, including a starting salary of $118,131.00 per annum, a Northern Allowance, and a Housing Allowance of $24,000.00 per annum.
