About Our Opportunity
You will be responsible for providing administrative support to the Provincial Victim Services Program, assisting in the delivery of services to victims of crime. This role requires a high level of organization, prioritization, and attention to detail, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to the Provincial Victim Services Program, including preparing correspondence, managing databases, and maintaining electronic filing systems.
- Assist with front desk coverage, responding to inquiries, and providing information to the public, victims of crime, and justice partners.
- Prepare statistics and reports, code block invoices, and perform other administrative tasks as required.
- Book meetings, prepare and distribute mail, and maintain an electronic filing system.
- Order office supplies, prepare quotations for training events, and take minutes for meetings.
- Support the administrative assistants in regional offices and Head Office, and perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications and Experience
To be successful in this role, you will have a one-year secretarial or commercial course supplemented by three years of related secretarial experience. You will be proficient in typing, word processing, and other standard computer applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and internet use.
Working Conditions
- This is a casual relief employment opportunity located in Dartmouth.
- The normal work week is 35 hours/week, 7 hours/day.
- May be required to work overtime on occasion.
- Stress level may be higher than normal due to the nature of the work and type of confidential information exposed to.
