Elevator & Lift Compliance Officer (Inspector Specialist 3)

The Government of Nova Scotia is seeking a highly skilled Elevator & Lift Compliance Officer (Inspector Specialist 3) to join our team. As an key member of our Labour, Skills and Immigration department, you will be responsible for enforcing the Elevator and Lifts Act and Regulations throughout the province.
Key ResponsibilitiesYou will work independently to provide information, advice and technical direction to stakeholders on applicable codes and standards. Conducting specialized technical inspections, investigations of accidents and incidents, and reviewing design drawings and specifications are also key aspects of this role. You will be responsible for compliance and enforcement with the above legislation, including issuing of summary offence tickets and initiating prosecution action.
RequirementsSuccessful candidates will have a related trade or technical training in design, construction, maintenance and inspection of elevating devices, plus 7 years of related experience after the course completion. A Class A Elevator Certificate of Competency is also required.
