Certified Orthotist Specialist

As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, the successful candidate will provide a range of clinical interventions to a pediatric and adult population. This role requires a high degree of expertise in decision-making, creativity, and interpersonal skills, as well as a commitment to professional development.
The Certified Orthotist will provide clinical leadership, particularly in complex cases, and will have the knowledge, skill, and judgment needed to provide competent, evidence-informed care. The dynamic environment requires the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to solve challenging clinical issues.
The successful candidate will support the development of students and colleagues through acting as a preceptor and providing ongoing mentorship. They will also attend clinics, rounds, conferences, and meetings as required, and provide supervision and evaluation of students and/or technicians.
The Orthotist may be required to provide services throughout the Rehabilitation and Supportive Care Services portfolio within a seven-day service.
About YouWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Certified Orthotist who possesses the following qualifications:
- Must hold the title of Certified Orthotist from Orthotics Prosthetics Canada
- 1-3 years of professional experience, ideally in a hospital setting, preferred
- Demonstrated ability to set priorities and work independently
- Excellent communication, observation, and interpersonal skills, as well as an ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team setting
- Demonstrated ability to critically analyze assessment data and identify treatment needs, focusing on a patient-centered approach
- Understanding of Privacy legislation and commitment to the protection of personal health information
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

HoursThis is a permanent, full-time position, with 75 hours bi-weekly.
Compensation and IncentivesThe successful candidate will receive a competitive hourly rate of $40.15 - $44.23, as well as eligibility for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
Successful candidates may also be eligible for a signing bonus and up to $5,000 of relocation assistance with a defined Return of Service contract.
