About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Certified Orthotist to join our team at Nova Scotia Health. As a key member of our multi-disciplinary team, you will provide clinical interventions to a pediatric and adult population.

This dynamic position requires expertise in decision-making, creativity, interpersonal skills, and professional development. You will work autonomously and collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to solve complex clinical issues.

The successful candidate will have experience working in a hospital setting and hold a title of Certified Orthotist from Orthotics Prosthetics Canada. You will also possess excellent communication, observation, and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide a diverse range of clinical interventions to a pediatric and adult population
  • Work autonomously and collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to solve complex clinical issues
  • Support the development of students and colleagues through precepting and mentorship
About You

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • A title of Certified Orthotist from Orthotics Prosthetics Canada
  • 1-3 years of professional experience, ideally in a hospital setting
  • Demonstrated ability to set priorities and work independently
  • Excellent communication, observation, and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to critically analyze assessment data and identify treatment needs focusing on a patient-centered approach
What We Offer

Nova Scotia Health offers a competitive salary ranging from $40.15 to $44.23 hourly, depending on experience. Successful candidates may also be eligible for a benefits package, including health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.

Additionally, successful candidates may be eligible for a signing bonus and up to $5,000 of relocation assistance with a defined Return of Service contract.
