About the Opportunity
As a member of a multi-disciplinary team, the Certified Orthotist provides a diverse range of clinical interventions to a pediatric and adult population. This role requires a high degree of expertise in decision-making, creativity, interpersonal skills, and professional development.
The Certified Orthotist provides clinical leadership, particularly in complex cases, and has the knowledge, skill, and judgment needed to provide competent, evidence-informed care. The dynamic environment requires the Certified Orthotist to work autonomously as well as collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to solve challenging clinical issues.
The Certified Orthotist supports the development of students and colleagues through acting as a preceptor and providing ongoing mentorship. The Certified Orthotist will attend clinics, rounds, conferences, and meetings as required and provide supervision and evaluation of students and/or technicians.
About You
We are seeking a Certified Orthotist who holds a title of Certified Orthotist from Orthotics Prosthetics Canada and has 1-3 years of professional experience, ideally in a hospital setting. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated ability to set priorities and work independently, excellent communication, observation, and interpersonal skills, as well as an ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team setting.
The Certified Orthotist will also have demonstrated ability to critically analyze assessment data and identify treatment needs focusing on a patient-centered approach, understanding of Privacy legislation, and commitment to the protection of personal health information. Competencies in other languages are an asset, with French preferred.
Hours and Compensation
This is a permanent, full-time position with 75 hours bi-weekly. The hourly rate is $40.15 - $44.23. Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
Successful candidates may also be eligible for a signing bonus and up to $5,000 of relocation assistance with a defined Return of Service contract.
