About the Opportunity

As a member of a multi-disciplinary team, the Clinical Orthotist Specialist provides a diverse range of clinical interventions to a pediatric and adult population. This role requires a high degree of expertise in decision-making, creativity, interpersonal skills, and professional development. The successful candidate will provide clinical leadership, particularly in complex cases, and have the knowledge, skill, and judgment needed to provide competent, evidence-informed care.

The dynamic environment requires the Clinical Orthotist Specialist to work autonomously as well as collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to solve challenging clinical issues. The successful candidate will support the development of students and colleagues through acting as a preceptor and providing ongoing mentorship.

About You

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Certified Orthotist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in orthotics and a proven track record of providing high-quality patient care.

  • Must hold the title of Certified Orthotist from Orthotics Prosthetics Canada
  • 1-3 years of professional experience, ideally in a hospital setting, preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to set priorities and work independently
  • Excellent communication, observation, and interpersonal skills, as well as an ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team setting
  • Demonstrated ability to critically analyze assessment data and identify treatment needs, focusing on a patient-centered approach
  • Understanding of Privacy legislation and commitment to the protection of personal health information
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
Hours

This is a permanent, full-time position, with a 75-hour bi-weekly schedule.

Compensation and Incentives

The successful candidate will be offered a competitive salary of $40.15 - $44.23 hourly, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.

Successful candidates may also be eligible for a signing bonus and up to $5,000 of relocation assistance, with a defined Return of Service contract.
