About CancerCare Manitoba

CancerCare Manitoba is a provincially mandated cancer agency responsible for setting strategic priorities and long-term planning for cancer and blood disorders. We provide clinical services to both children and adults, including prevention, early detection, multidisciplinary cancer treatment, supportive and end-of-life care, as well as radiation protection throughout the province.

We work closely with regional health authorities and rely on the ongoing support of Manitoba Health to deliver quality cancer services to Manitobans. The financial assistance provided by donations to the CancerCare Manitoba Foundation is vital to undertaking research and providing quality care.

Head of Radiation Oncology Role

The Head of Radiation Oncology will lead patient care, research, and educational initiatives, working closely with Radiation Oncology leadership and CCMB and University of Manitoba leaders. This role requires strong leadership experience in a clinical and academic radiation oncology setting, as well as expertise in radiation therapy techniques, equipment, and emerging technologies.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in clinical research, excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex projects. A detailed understanding of departmental finances and budgets is also essential.

Educational Requirements
  • Eligibility for registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba
  • Certification in Radiation Oncology by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCPC)
  • Demonstrated research acumen and administrative experience

A formal training or certification in the field of administration would be considered an asset. Experience as an Associate Professor or higher is preferred.

  • Lead patient care, research, and educational initiatives in Radiation Oncology

  • Provide expert guidance on radiation therapy techniques, equipment, and emerging technologies
  • Develop and implement research plans, manage budgets, and lead cross-functional teams

$185,000 - $220,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications
