Radiation Oncology Director

CancerCare Manitoba is a provincially mandated cancer agency, responsible for setting strategic priorities and long-term planning for cancer and blood disorders.
The organization provides clinical services to both children and adults, including prevention, early detection, multidisciplinary cancer treatment, supportive and end-of-life care, and radiation protection throughout the province.
As part of its commitment to quality care, CancerCare Manitoba relies on close working relationships with regional health authorities and the financial assistance provided by donations to the CancerCare Manitoba Foundation.
The Radiation Oncology Program (ROP) at CancerCare Manitoba offers state-of-the-art radiation-based clinical services, primarily located in Winnipeg with an additional site in Brandon.
Radiation Oncologists see approximately 4,500 consultations per annum from Manitoba and Northwestern Ontario, encompassing a population of 1.3 million.
The program has seven linear accelerators and three CT simulators, with one linear accelerator and one CT simulator located in Brandon.
The Radiation Therapy Computer Systems have an integrated electronic medical record, ensuring safe and efficient documentation, communication, and transfer of patient treatment information across cancer services in Manitoba.
The successful candidate will lead patient care, research, and educational initiatives, working closely with Radiation Oncology leadership and leadership at CCMB and Max Rady College of Medicine, University of Manitoba.
Key responsibilities include providing clinical oversight, participating in departmental meetings, and contributing to program development and implementation.
Qualifications include eligibility for registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba and certification in Radiation Oncology by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCPC).
A strong background in clinical research, with a focus on evidence-based practices and clinical trials, is also essential.
The estimated annual salary for this position is $250,000-$300,000, commensurate with experience.
