Pharmacist Role in Oncology Drug Management

Job Summary:

The Clinical Pharmacist will play a pivotal role in implementing new drug programs and evaluating current ones, working under the direction of the Provincial Oncology Drug Program Director.

In this position, you will be responsible for developing policies and institutional tools for novel drug treatments, ensuring quality assurance in the management and delivery of oncology drugs.

You will also coordinate any drug or safety alerts from organizations like Health Canada or the ISMP, updating necessary institutional tools accordingly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development of policies and tools for new drug treatments
  • Evaluate current drug programs and implement improvements
  • Coordinate drug and safety alerts from relevant organizations
  • Ensure quality assurance in oncology drug management

Requirements:

  • Graduate of Pharmacy from an accredited university
  • Licensed to practice pharmacy in Manitoba
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a pharmacist
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Satisfactory employment record
  • Eligibility to work legally in Canada

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in institutional pharmacy
  • Experience in oncology pharmacy
  • Background in evaluation and monitoring of drug therapies
  • Formulary development and maintenance experience
  • Familiarity with the pan-Canadian Oncology Drug Review (pCODR) process
  • Membership in the Canadian Association of Pharmacy in Oncology

Estimated Salary: $62,605 - $68,980 annually, depending on experience
