Intermediate Design Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Intermediate Design and Drafting Technologist to join our Transportation Engineering Department in Red Deer. As a key member of our team, you will assist senior engineering staff in the design and drafting of transportation engineering projects.

As an Intermediate Design and Drafting Technologist, you will be responsible for:
Key Responsibilities:- Processing project base map and survey information, including setting up project base maps and creating existing ground DTMs.
- Preparing preliminary and detailed design drawings, including plans, profiles, and cross-sections.
- Working closely with design engineers and project managers to complete design and working drawings.
- Ensuring highway and road designs meet all pertinent design features and standards.
- Contributing to the cost-effective production of transportation engineering and drawings.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
Requirements:- Civil Engineering or Design and Drafting Technology/Technician diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution.
- Minimum 5 years of roadway and highway engineering design and drafting experience.
- Working knowledge of transportation engineering principles and design standards.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D, with experience in Bentley MicroStation an asset.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to generate high-quality work.
- Ability to work individually and as a team member in a fast-paced environment.
