We are seeking a highly skilled Intermediate Design and Drafting Technologist to join our Transportation Engineering Department in Red Deer. As a key member of our team, you will assist senior engineering staff in the design and drafting of transportation engineering projects.
Key Responsibilities- Process project base map and survey information, including setting up project base maps and creating existing ground DTM.
- Prepare preliminary and detailed design drawings, including plans, profiles, and geometrics.
- Work closely with design engineers and project managers to complete design and working drawings for construction and post-construction phases.
- Ensure highway and road designs incorporate all pertinent design features for easy understanding by end users.
- Contribute to the cost-effective production of transportation engineering and drawings that meet client and approval agency requirements.
- Civil Engineering or Design and Drafting Technology/Technician diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution.
- Minimum of 5 years of roadway and highway engineering design and drafting experience.
- Working knowledge of transportation engineering principles and design standards.
- Proficient in AutoCAD and Civil 3D, with experience in Bentley MicroStation considered an asset.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to generate high-quality work.
- Ability to work individually and as a team member in a high-paced environment.
