About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Intermediate Design professional to join our Transportation Engineering Department in Red Deer. As an Intermediate Design & Drafting Technologist, you will play a key role in assisting senior engineering staff in the design and drafting of transportation engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process project base map and survey information, including setting up project base maps and creating existing ground DTM.
  • Prepare preliminary and detailed design drawings, including plans, profiles, and cross-sections.
  • Work closely with design engineers and project managers to complete design and working drawings.
  • Ensure highway and road designs incorporate all pertinent design features.
  • Contribute to the cost-effective production of transportation engineering and drawings that meet client and approval agency requirements.
Requirements
  • Civil Engineering or Design and Drafting Technology/Technician diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution.
  • Minimum of 5 years of roadway and highway engineering design and drafting experience.
  • Working knowledge of transportation engineering principles and design standards.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and Civil 3D, with experience in Bentley MicroStation considered an asset.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to generate high-quality work.
  • Ability to work individually and as a team member in a high-paced environment.
