About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Intermediate Design Specialist to join our Transportation Engineering Department in Red Deer, Alberta. As a key member of our team, you will assist senior engineering staff in the design and drafting of transportation engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process project base map and survey information, including setting up project base maps and creating existing ground digital terrain models.
  • Prepare preliminary and detailed design drawings, including plans, profiles, cross-sections, geometrics, drainage, and utilities.
  • Work closely with design engineers and project managers to complete design and working drawings for construction and post-construction phases.
  • Ensure highway and road designs incorporate pertinent design features for easy understanding by end users.
  • Contribute to the cost-effective production of transportation engineering drawings that meet client and approval agency requirements.
Requirements
  • Civil Engineering or Design and Drafting Technology/Technician diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution.
  • Minimum of 5 years of roadway and highway engineering design and drafting experience.
  • Working knowledge of transportation engineering principles and design standards.
  • Proficient in computer-aided design/drafting programs, including AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to generate high-quality work.
