About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Mechanic to join our team at Bayview Stone. As an Electrical Mechanic, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our electrical systems and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Electrical System Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks on electrical systems, including testing and observing electrical and mechanical conditions of equipment.
  • Troubleshooting and Repair: Troubleshoot and repair electric motors, transformers, switchgear, generators, and other electro-mechanical equipment.
  • Component Replacement and Reconditioning: Replace or recondition shafts, bearings, commutators, and other components as needed.
  • Welding and Machining: Perform welding and machining tasks to recondition or modify shafts, commutators, or other parts.
  • Electrical System Testing: Test and repair or replace faulty wiring or components in electrical switchgear.
  • Equipment Testing and Validation: Test repaired motors, transformers, switchgear, or other electrical apparatus to ensure proper performance.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in electrical mechanics.
  • Work Environment: Ability to work in a noisy and dusty environment.
  • Work Setting: Maintenance, repair, testing, and service of electrical equipment.
  • Physical Capabilities: Physically demanding work requiring handling heavy loads, standing for extended periods, bending, crouching, kneeling, and manual dexterity.
  • Personal Suitability: Accurate, client-focused, excellent oral and written communication skills, and a team player attitude.
