About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Mechanic to join our team at Bayview Stone. As an Electrical Mechanic, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our electrical systems and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Electrical System Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on electrical systems, including testing and observing electrical and mechanical conditions of equipment.
  • Troubleshooting and Repair: Troubleshoot and repair electric motors, transformers, switchgear, generators, and other electro-mechanical equipment.
  • Component Replacement and Reconditioning: Replace or recondition shafts, bearings, commutators, and other components as needed.
  • Welding and Machining: Perform welding and machining tasks to recondition or modify shafts, commutators, or other parts.
  • Testing and Quality Assurance: Test and repair or replace faulty wiring or components in electrical switchgear, and test repaired motors, transformers, switchgear, or other electrical apparatus to ensure proper performance.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Work Environment: Noisy and dusty work site environment.
  • Work Setting: Maintenance, repair, testing, and service.
  • Physical Demands: Physically demanding, handling heavy loads, standing for extended periods, bending, crouching, kneeling, and ability to distinguish between colors.
  • Personal Suitability: Accurate, client-focused, excellent oral and written communication, and team player.
  • Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a related field.
