Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Marketing & Communications Manager to join our team at Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts. This is a permanent position that reports directly to the Director of Sales & Marketing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic oversight and day-to-day management of property-level marketing and communication initiatives.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive social media strategies, including content creation and community engagement.
  • Write and edit engaging marketing materials, including menus, hotel signage, and amenity cards.
  • Build and maintain relationships with media contacts and plan press activities to promote the hotel's brand.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Sales & Marketing to develop and execute digital marketing plans, including email marketing and social media campaigns.
  • Manage the creation and distribution of press releases and communications to key stakeholders.
  • Assist in the development of packages for Digital Marketing, including search engine optimization (SEO) and pay-per-click (PPC) advertising.
  • Manage digital photo fulfillment and access to hotel marketing materials.
  • Participate in photography for advertising and social media purposes.
  • Work with the Director of Sales & Marketing and agency partners to develop and execute advertising campaign creative and media plans.
  • Develop, coordinate, and execute the production of all printed materials, including menus, flyers, and print ads.
  • Follow a strategic marketing plan to achieve business objectives.
  • Organize promotional activities, hotel-sponsored events, and community relations activities to promote the hotel's brand.
  • Act as an information center and Brand Ambassador for the hotel.
  • Create graphic assets, including menus, flyers, and print ads.
  • Contribute to marketing components, including contracts, proposals, and scripting for site inspections.
  • Prepare digital marketing plans focused on tactical campaigns to drive revenue growth.
  • Collaborate with corporate teams on brand initiatives and develop partnerships to drive revenue goals.
  • Execute client entertainment, marketing programs, trade shows, and familiarization trips to promote the hotel's brand.
  • Undertake other ad hoc related responsibilities as required.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
  • Previous experience in digital media and design is required.
  • Background in hotel marketing is preferred.
  • Successful completion of a post-secondary marketing program is preferred.
  • Must hold the legal right to work in Canada (Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident) or active possession of an Open Work Permit.
