Job Summary

CIMA Canada Inc is seeking a highly experienced Project Director to lead institutional building projects. As a technical expert in mechanical engineering, you will be responsible for coordinating team members' work, representing the company with clients, and ensuring project delivery on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead large-scale building mechanical projects from conception to completion
  • Act as a technical reference and solve complex engineering problems
  • Mentor junior employees and share building engineering knowledge
  • Verify accuracy of drawings and specifications for projects under your supervision
  • Coordinate team members' work and ensure collaboration with other internal disciplines
  • Meet with clients to assess their needs, prepare proposals, and establish budgets and schedules
  • Ensure effective communication with clients to assess project progress and address their concerns
  • Collaborate with clients to resolve technical and budgetary issues
  • Monitor contracts, including budgets, and draft contract amendments
  • Act as a project manager for projects under your supervision and follow up on work-in-progress and accounts receivable
  • Manage human resources, including hiring, performance evaluations, and salary reviews
  • Evaluate and implement methods, procedures, and tools to increase service quality, optimize work methods, and enhance productivity

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering with 20 years of professional experience
  • Portfolio of diversified institutional building projects, primarily schools and hospitals
  • Experience in consulting engineering, private, public, or semi-public building sectors
  • In-depth knowledge of financial concepts and excellent budget monitoring skills
  • Negotiation and communication skills
  • Proven project management abilities
  • Strong technical credibility and willingness to share technical expertise with clients and the team
