Medical Imaging Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Imaging Specialist to join our team at Halton Healthcare. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for providing technical assistance in performing diagnostic and interventional procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Acquire and process imaging data to support diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
- Responsible for maintaining a safe and organized environment, adhering to sterile technique and aseptic protocols
- Provide critical thinking and resourcefulness in high-pressure situations, adapting procedures to improve diagnostic quality and therapeutic outcomes
- Supervise students assigned to the interventional radiology department
- Work effectively in a team setting, communicating with colleagues and patients to ensure seamless care delivery
- Graduate of an approved training program in radiography
- Current registration and good standing with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO)
- Current procedural scrub training required
- Previous interventional radiology experience required
- Experience in sterile environments and aseptic technique
- Current BLS certification required
- Ability to organize work, set priorities, and manage time effectively
- Excellent problem recognition and problem-solving skills
- Committed to service excellence and patient satisfaction
- Ability to work well under pressure, handling urgent situations and life-saving actions
- Physical ability to perform job duties, including standing for long periods and lifting
This is a full-time position working various rotating 7.5 hour shifts, including days and evenings. The successful candidate will be required to work at multiple sites within the Halton Healthcare network.
