The Executive Chef Assistant will be responsible for assisting the head chef in planning and directing food preparation and cooking activities, as well as supervising cooks and other kitchen staff.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist the head chef in planning menus, estimating food costs, and maintaining records of food consumption and inventory.
  • Supervise cooks and other kitchen staff, ensuring that they are following proper food handling and preparation procedures.
  • Train new staff members on food preparation, cooking, and presentation techniques.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to health and safety standards.
  • Work collaboratively with the head chef and other kitchen staff to ensure seamless food service operations.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 7 months to less than 1 year of experience as a sous-chef or similar role.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
  • Degree from a college or CEGEP.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects.
Working Conditions:

The Executive Chef Assistant will work in a fast-paced kitchen environment, standing for extended periods and lifting heavy objects. This is a permanent position requiring a minimum of 35 hours per week.

Salary:

The estimated salary range for this position is $50,000 - $60,000 per year, based on industry standards and location.
