About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Metal Fabrication Assistant to join our team at Avilion Metalcraft Ltd. As a key member of our fabrication team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and efficiency of our metal fabrication processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate Metal Cleaning Equipment: Safely operate metal cleaning equipment to remove excess welds, rust, scale, and other materials from metal products.
  • Clean and Prepare Metal Products: Immerse metal products in cleaning solutions, grind or chip excess metal using hand tools, and polish metal products to a mirror finish.
  • Assist Fabrication Team: Assist structural steel and platework fitters, sheet metal workers, metal machine operators, and other metal workers as needed.
  • Sort and Organize Materials: Sort metal sheets and parts, scrap metal, and other materials in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Load and Unload Vehicles: Load and unload vehicles with metal products and equipment.
Work Environment

Our fabrication shop is a fast-paced environment with a focus on quality and safety. You will be working in a dusty and hot environment, with regular exposure to loud noises. You must be able to stand for extended periods and handle heavy loads.

Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: Will train.
  • Physical Demands: Repetitive tasks, physically demanding, manual dexterity, attention to detail, standing for extended periods, fast-paced environment, handling heavy loads.
  • Weight Handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
  • Personal Suitability: Dependability, excellent oral communication, flexibility, reliability, team player.
Working Conditions

Public transportation is available. You must be able to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with colleagues.
