About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Metal Fabrication Assistant to join our team at Avilion Metalcraft Ltd. As a key member of our fabrication team, you will be responsible for assisting in the production of high-quality metal products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate Metal Cleaning Equipment: Safely operate metal cleaning equipment to remove excess welds, rust, scale, and other materials from metal products.
  • Immerse Metal Products in Cleaning Solutions: Immerse metal products in cleaning solutions to ensure thorough cleaning and preparation for further processing.
  • Assist Fabrication Team Members: Assist structural steel and platework fitters, sheet metal workers, metal machine operators, and other metal workers in the fabrication process.
  • Sort and Organize Materials: Sort metal sheets and parts, scrap metal, and other materials to ensure efficient use of resources and minimize waste.
  • Grind and Chip Excess Metal: Grind or chip excess metal from metal products using hand tools to achieve precise results.
  • Clean Machines and Work Areas: Clean machines and immediate work areas to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Load and Unload Vehicles: Load and unload vehicles with metal products and materials to ensure timely delivery and receipt of goods.
  • Polish Metal Products: Polish metal products to a mirror finish to meet quality standards.
  • Read and Interpret Work Orders: Read and interpret work orders to understand production requirements and ensure accurate completion of tasks.
Work Environment

Our fabrication shop is a fast-paced environment with a focus on quality and safety. As a Metal Fabrication Assistant, you will work in a team-oriented setting with a variety of equipment and machinery. You will be required to stand for extended periods, handle heavy loads, and work in a physically demanding environment.

Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: Will train.
  • Physical Demands: Repetitive tasks, physically demanding, manual dexterity, attention to detail, standing for extended periods, fast-paced environment, handling heavy loads, and large workload.
  • Weight Handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
  • Personal Suitability: Dependability, excellent oral communication, flexibility, reliability, and team player.
Language and Work Conditions
