Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Structural Metal Fabricator to join our team at Avilion Metalcraft Ltd. As a key member of our fabrication team, you will be responsible for fabricating and assembling metal structures and components to meet the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Determine materials required for fabrication projects
  • Interpret engineering drawings and instructions to plan methods and sequences of operation
  • Lay out reference points and patterns for metal fabrication
  • Plan the sequence of tasks to cut metal efficiently
  • Study engineering drawings and blueprints to determine material requirements
  • Assemble and fit plates and sections to form structures
  • Weld or bolt sections together to create metal components
  • Set up and operate heavy-duty metal-working machines
  • Construct patterns and templates for metal fabrication
  • Install fabricated components in final products
  • Rig, hoist, and move materials to storage areas or within the worksite
Requirements
  • 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in metal fabrication
  • Forklift Operator Certification
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate
  • Valid driver's license and own transportation
  • Willingness to travel
  • Physically demanding work environment
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
  • Combination of sitting, standing, and walking
  • Attention to detail and ability to work in a team
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with MIG and TIG welding techniques
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD software
  • Experience with brakes and presses, cutting torches, drills, grinders, shears, and saws
