Position Overview

As a key member of the Communications Team at FortisBC, you will be responsible for coordinating all external communications projects, ensuring timely delivery and optimal resource utilization.

Responsibilities

Project Planning

  • Develop and implement communications plans, coordinating with stakeholders to ensure alignment with company objectives.
  • Lead project teams to deliver high-quality communications projects, managing timelines, budgets, and resources.

Media Placement

  • Collaborate with media agencies to implement media plans, ensuring effective budget allocation and timely execution.
  • Coordinate the approval process for media buy recommendations, placements, and advertisement schedules.

Production Process

  • Source and negotiate with suppliers, analyzing quotations to provide cost estimates and assessing their work.
  • Generate purchase requisitions, ensuring proper job specifications are provided to outside suppliers and reconciling invoices against quotations.
  • Monitor project progress, identifying risks, barriers, and constraints to project lead and/or manager, and devising solutions.
Requirements
  • Completion of a recognized diploma in Business Administration, Communications, or related field from an accredited post-secondary institution.
  • Minimum of three (3) years directly related and recent experience, including project management.
  • Thorough knowledge of procedures involved in print production, including pre-press and printing technology, digital and social media.
  • Strong communications planning and project management skills, with sound budgeting and time management skills.
