Position Overview

As a key member of the Communications Team at FortisBC, you will be responsible for coordinating all external communications projects, ensuring timely delivery and optimal resource utilization.

Responsibilities

  • Project Planning
    • Develop and implement communications plans, coordinating with the Communications Project Manager to receive and review requests.
    • Suggest effective communications strategies, media, and advertising approaches.
  • Media Placement
    • Collaborate with media placement agencies, advertising agencies, or creative/design studios to implement media plans, set schedules, and allocate budgets.
    • Coordinate the approval of media buy recommendations, placements, and advertisement schedules.
  • Production Process
    • Source, interview, and negotiate with suppliers and production vendors, analyzing quotations to provide cost estimates to internal clients.
    • Generate purchase requisitions to ensure proper job specifications are provided to outside suppliers and reconcile invoices against quotations.
    • Monitor project progress, identifying risks, barriers, and constraints to project lead and/or manager, and work collaboratively to devise solutions.

Requirements

  • Completion of a recognized diploma in Business Administration, Communications, or a related field from an accredited post-secondary institution.
  • Minimum of three (3) years directly related and recent experience, including project management.
  • Thorough knowledge of procedures involved in print production, including pre-press and printing technology, digital, and social media.
  • Strong communications planning and project management skills, with sound budgeting and time management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and proof-reading skills.
