About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Fishmonger to join our team at Tavora Foods (Mississauga) Inc. as a Retail Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring the highest quality fish and seafood products are available to our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clean and Prepare Fish and Seafood: Clean, gut, and prepare fish and seafood for sale, adhering to strict quality control standards.
  • Merchandising and Display: Maintain visually appealing displays of fish and seafood products, ensuring they are attractively presented and easily accessible to customers.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service, answering questions and making recommendations to customers on fish and seafood products.
  • Inventory Management: Assist in managing inventory levels, ensuring that stock is accurately recorded and that orders are fulfilled in a timely manner.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Maintain equipment and tools in good working order, adhering to health and safety standards.
Requirements
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma is required for this position.
  • Work Environment: The work environment is cold/refrigerated, and you may be exposed to odors.
  • Work Setting: This role is based in a supermarket/grocery store environment.
  • Physical Demands: This position requires standing for extended periods, working under pressure, and maintaining a fast-paced environment.
  • Language: The primary language of work is English.
  • Work Hours: The work schedule is 37.5 hours per week.
