About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Butcher - Retail or Wholesale Specialist to join our team at BURMA STAR INC. as a key member of our Meat Processing and Packing department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clean and Prepare Meats: Clean meats to prepare for processing or cutting, ensuring high-quality standards are met.
  • Cut and Trim Meats: Cut carcasses, sides, and quarters, as well as cut, trim, and prepare standard cuts of meat.
  • Wrap and Package Meats: Wrap and package prepared meats for sale, adhering to company standards.
  • Remove Bones and Weigh Meats: Remove bones from meat and weigh meats for sale, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Cut Poultry and Fish: Cut poultry into parts and clean and prepare fish and shellfish for sale.
  • Supervise and Train: Supervise other butchers, meat cutters, and fishmongers, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality standards are met.
  • Operate Equipment: Operate manual cutting utensils and power grinders, maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: No degree, certificate, or diploma required; 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field.
  • Work Environment: Fast-paced environment with standing for extended periods, handling heavy loads, and attention to detail.
  • Language: English language proficiency required.
  • Work Schedule: 40 hours per week, permanent position.
