Burma Star Inc. is seeking a skilled Butcher to join our team in a meat processing and packing environment. As a Butcher, you will be responsible for preparing and processing meats for sale in our wholesale and retail operations.
Key Responsibilities- Clean and Prepare Meats: Clean meats to prepare for processing or cutting, and ensure a high level of quality and safety.
- Cut and Trim Meats: Cut carcasses, sides, and quarters, and trim and prepare standard cuts of meat.
- Wrap and Package Meats: Wrap and package prepared meats for sale in our retail and wholesale operations.
- Remove Bones and Weigh Meats: Remove bones from meat and weigh meats for sale.
- Cut Poultry and Fish: Cut poultry into parts and clean and prepare fish and shellfish for sale.
- Supervise and Train: Supervise and train other butchers, meat cutters, and fishmongers in our team.
- Operate Equipment: Operate manual cutting utensils and power grinders to prepare and process meats.
As a Butcher at Burma Star Inc., you will work in a fast-paced environment with a high level of physical activity. You will be required to stand for extended periods and handle heavy loads.
Requirements- Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma is required for this role.
- Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a meat processing and packing environment is preferred.
- Language: English is the primary language spoken in our workplace.
- Work Hours: 40 hours per week, with a permanent work term.
