As a Commercial Auto Underwriter - Relationship Builder, you will play a key role in shaping the future of our company and growing our team. We're looking for a motivated and results-driven individual to join our growing team, responsible for managing commercial auto underwriting, building relationships with brokers and clients, and driving business growth.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Participate in broker visits, insurance industry functions, and marketing events to support broker relationship development.
  • Use negotiating skills to maintain healthy relationships within and outside the company.
  • Make recommendations to improve department processes and increase efficiency.
  • Analyze requests for quotes and recommend innovative solutions.
  • Focus on building relationships while underwriting and rating policies.
  • Provide technical advice, recommendations, and mentoring to team members.
  • Assess, evaluate, and negotiate on moderate to complex risks.

What You Bring:



  • Post-secondary education and/or relevant experience.
  • 1-3 years of commercial lines auto (fleet) experience.
  • Very strong sales and customer service skills.
  • Completion of or progress toward a CIP designation is an asset.
  • Maintain an expert and current understanding of all relevant Commercial Underwriting Guides and instructions related thereto.
  • Demonstrate the ability to handle complex risks.
  • Awareness of local community conditions and insurance issues.
  • Strong negotiating skills and business savvy.
  • Initiative and ability to work under pressure.
  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office products and computer tools.

Estimated Salary: $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience and location.
