We are seeking a skilled Commercial Insurance Underwriter to join our Middle Market team at Zurich Canada. In this role, you will be responsible for creating strong broker relationships and providing meaningful customer service to drive business growth.
About the RoleThe ideal candidate will have experience in commercial lines auto underwriting and a strong understanding of insurance laws and regulations. You will work closely with brokers to determine their insurance needs and provide solutions that meet their requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Underwrite and analyze new and renewal business using The Zurich Way of Underwriting framework
- Develop and maintain relationships with brokers to drive business retention and acquisition
- Work with customers and brokers to determine their insurance needs and provide solutions
- Support the sales culture by being a Help Point for brokers and customers
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A high school diploma or equivalent and 3 or more years of experience in underwriting or market-facing roles
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with Microsoft Office
While not required, we prefer candidates with:
- A bachelor's degree
- 3 or more years of experience with commercial lines auto underwriting
