About the Opportunity

Zurich Canada's Middle Market business is expanding, offering a unique chance to join a collaborative and values-driven workplace with inspiring teammates and leaders.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Underwriter to create strong broker relationships and provide meaningful customer service for commercial insurance solutions in the Ontario region.

Reporting to the VP, Middle Market, Ontario Region, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining a portfolio of accounts within the broader Middle Market strategy, utilizing The Zurich Way of Underwriting framework.

Key Responsibilities

  • Underwrite and analyze new and renewal business using The Zurich Way of Underwriting framework and delegated authority levels.
  • Administer and monitor underwriting rules and guidelines, insurance laws and regulations, and rating annual rules.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with brokers to support business retention and acquisition.
  • Support the sales culture by being a Help Point for brokers and customers.
  • Proactively seek renewal and new account opportunities.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 3 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area.
  • Knowledge of line/s of business and legal and regulatory guidelines.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • 3 or more years of experience with commercial lines auto underwriting.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
