About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned Property Accounting Manager to join our team at Totem Recruiter. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial management of our growing portfolio of luxury residential properties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a team of property accountants to ensure accurate and timely financial management.
  • Oversee daily accounting operations, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and best practices.
  • Manage monthly close procedures, review financial statements, and analyze variances with property managers.
  • Prepare and review year-end financial reports and supporting documentation.
  • Contribute to annual budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Collaborate with external auditors to ensure successful audit completion.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of accounting systems and procedures.
  • Handle property accounting-related inquiries from internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in property accounting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • In-depth knowledge of property accounting principles and practices.
  • Proven track record of managing a team, with strong leadership and mentoring skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and experience with property accounting software (ideally Yardi).
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy.
