About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Property Accounting Manager to join our team at Totem Recruiter. As a key member of our financial operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day accounting operations for our growing portfolio of luxury residential properties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and mentor a team of property accountants, fostering a collaborative work environment and ensuring the accurate and timely financial management of our properties.
  • Oversee the monthly accounting close procedures, review financial statements, and analyze variances in collaboration with property managers.
  • Prepare and review year-end financial reports and supporting documentation, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
  • Contribute to the development of annual budgets and forecasts, working closely with our financial planning team.
  • Collaborate with external auditors to ensure timely and successful audit completion, maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of accounting systems and procedures, ensuring seamless integration with our existing infrastructure.
  • Handle property accounting-related inquiries from internal and external stakeholders, providing exceptional customer service and support.
  • Participate in special projects and initiatives as needed, driving business growth and improvement.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in property accounting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • In-depth knowledge of property accounting principles and practices, with a proven track record of managing a team and leading by example.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities, with a strong focus on collaboration and teamwork.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and experience with property accounting software (ideally Yardi), with a willingness to learn and adapt to new systems.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
