Job Summary

This role is a vital part of the Island Health team, responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and safety of biomedical equipment in various hospital departments.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect, test, maintain, and repair complex biomedical equipment, including those used in Radiology, Respiratory, Anaesthesia, and Operating Room settings.
  • Perform acceptance tests on new equipment, modify existing equipment to enhance performance and safety, and provide expert advice to users.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of biomedical equipment into hospital operations.
Requirements
  • Degree in Biomedical Engineering Technology or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Valid Class 5 vehicle license.
Skills and Abilities
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.
  • Physical stamina to perform duties in a hospital setting.
Compensation and Benefits

$62,500 - $77,500 per annum, depending on experience.
