As an Intake Worker, you will be the first point of contact for families seeking access to our services, providing a warm and welcoming experience while ensuring that their needs are assessed and addressed.
As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for triaging initial calls, assessing the needs of children, youth, and families, and recommending programs that meet their unique requirements. You will work closely with internal staff and community partners to navigate and facilitate the referral process, ensuring seamless transitions and effective communication.
This is a 35-hour weekly on-site, daytime position, working Monday to Friday. We offer a collaborative and inclusive work environment, with opportunities for professional growth and development.
About YouWe are looking for a Child and Youth Worker with experience working with caregivers, who is empathetic and possesses exceptional communication skills. You will be able to work in a highly distractible environment, handling interruptions with sensitivity and professionalism. You will be confident in your ability to empathize and connect with people, managing stressful situations with tact and diplomacy.
You will have a deep understanding of child development, child/youth mental health, family functioning, parenting issues, and trauma, including child abuse and family violence. You will be familiar with our programs and community resources, and have experience using intake screening tools and skills in initial triage and preliminary assessment.
