Executive Culinary Director

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Culinary Director to join our culinary team at the Wickaninnish Inn, a Relais & Chateaux property located on the West Coast of Canada.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in fine dining and experience leading high-performing teams. They will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our kitchen, ensuring exceptional culinary standards, and driving innovation and creativity in menu planning and food presentation.
A key member of our leadership team, the Executive Culinary Director will work closely with the Executive Chef and other department heads to achieve our goals and exceed guest expectations. They will be expected to stay up-to-date with the latest culinary trends and techniques, and contribute their expertise to continually enhance the dining experience at the Wickaninnish Inn.

Job DescriptionThis is a senior leadership role within our culinary team, reporting directly to the Executive Chef. Key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing the daily operations of the kitchen, including food preparation, presentation, and service.
- Developing and implementing new menu concepts, in collaboration with the Executive Chef and other department heads.
- Leading and managing a team of skilled chefs and cooks, providing coaching, guidance, and support as needed.
- Maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and hygiene in all aspects of food preparation and service.
- Collaborating with other departments to ensure seamless execution of events and functions.
To be considered for this role, you will need:
- A minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar position, preferably in a fine dining establishment.
- Proven leadership skills, with experience managing teams and developing talent.
- Excellent culinary skills, with a deep understanding of food preparation, presentation, and safety protocols.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels.
- A passion for innovation and creativity, with a commitment to staying up-to-date with the latest culinary trends and techniques.
We offer a comprehensive compensation package, including:
- An annual salary of $70,000, plus gratuities.
