This Executive Pastry Sous Chef role is responsible for assisting the Pastry Chef in managing daily operations related to pastry and bakery production, maintaining culinary excellence, and working a combination of AM and PM shifts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure exceptional guest service meeting and exceeding standards.
- Be an engaged participant and leader of a high-performing team that strives for excellence.
- Assist the Pastry Chef in all aspects of daily pastry shop operations.
- Participate in events and contribute to menu planning, staff supervision, training, mentoring, ordering, and inventory management.
- Attend kitchen leadership meetings and monthly departmental meetings.
In the absence of the Pastry Chef, this role will be responsible for leading all pastry shop operations.

Our ideal candidate will embody West Coast culture, demonstrate commitment to hospitality, and pursue excellence. They will have:
- Knowledgeable about and capable to meet and exceed industry standards.
- Previous experience in a similar position or level in a fine dining establishment.
- BC Foodsafe certification or equivalent.
- Ability to function calmly under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Flexibility with special requests, dietary requirements, and last-minute changes.
- A desire to contribute innovative ideas towards improving the kitchen and the inn.
- Leadership, coaching, and training skills.
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
- Journeyman/Red Seal Certification, Cook's trade certification an asset.
- Superb time management and organizational skills.
Salary: $51,500 per year
