Salary and Benefits

$20 per hour, with opportunities for overtime pay and paid vacation time.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Pastry Cook to join our culinary team at The Pointe Restaurant. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for assisting with daily production and presentation of a wide range of baked goods made from scratch.

You will work closely with our team of culinary experts to maintain the highest level of culinary excellence and ensure efficient service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and bake a variety of pastries, desserts, and other baked goods according to established recipes and standards.
  • Create visually appealing and delicious pastries that enhance our guests' dining experience.
  • Follow recipes and production schedules to ensure consistency and timely delivery of products.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation, adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to plan and develop new pastry items and seasonal offerings.
  • Manage inventory of baking ingredients and supplies, ensuring freshness and proper storage.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 1 year's experience in a fine dining establishment or similar.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, and creative problem-solving skills.
  • A positive and proactive approach, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Proven experience as a pastry cook or in a similar role, with a strong portfolio of pastry items.
  • Knowledge of baking techniques, pastry decoration, and dessert presentation.
  • The ability to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
