About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Energy Efficiency Engineer to join our team in Winnipeg. This role will support the Plant Manager and Maintenance Manager in mentoring and coaching shift maintenance personnel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the safe operation and maintenance of all utilities equipment, including ammonia refrigeration plants, Freon type refrigeration units, heating and air conditioning units, air compressors, boiler, water heating equipment, air make up units, air handling units, and other accessories.
  • Provide direction on operational-related projects to meet capability, output, facility, and systems requirements, increase efficiencies, support safety, validation, and meet goals and objectives that contribute to the overall success of the organization.
  • Assist in negotiations of service and contractual agreements and monitor performance of contractors and service personnel for repairs and installations as needed.
  • Participate in departmental strategic planning, ensuring all above functions support branch operations as well as corporate goals and objectives.
  • Maintain building firefighting equipment such as fire sprinklers and fire extinguishers.
  • Operate and maintain the waste water treatment plant in compliance with city wastewater regulations.
Requirements
  • Knowledge in mechanical engineering, project management, facilities management, systems engineering, equipment maintenance, design and drafting, computer applications, and ability to provide superior leadership skills.
  • Management of multiple projects and excellent communication skills to interact with all operational departments.
  • Clear understanding of all manufacturing operations, cost implications, and efficiency requirements to ensure continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Provide technical support with SOPs, trouble shooting, PM checks, etc.
Promote Health & Safety
  • Accountable for enforcement of company health and safety policies on the production line(s).
  • Report any gas and sewer releases to the appropriate authorities, including the plant manager.
Promote Food Safety & HACCP
  • Enforce adherence to SOPs and HACCP requirements.
  • 3-5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment.
Salary Range

$90,000 - $120,000 per year, depending on experience.
