Orthopedic Trauma Nurse Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team as an Orthopedic Trauma Nurse Specialist in Winnipeg, MB. About the RoleThe LPN will work under the general supervision of the Manager of Patient Care, providing professional practical nursing services to designated patients. Key responsibilities include:
- Providing independent nursing services and administering prescribed medical treatments
- Collaborating with the healthcare team to coordinate patient care and discharge
- Demonstrating a commitment to the vision, values, goals, and objectives of the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority
Requirements include:
- Graduate of an approved Licensed Practical Nursing Education program
- Certification in IV Therapy
- Active registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Manitoba (CLPNM)
Familiarity with relevant legislation, including the Personal Health Information Act (PHIA), Protection of Persons in Care Act, Mental Health Act, and Workplace Hazardous Material Information System (WHMIS), is essential.
Qualifications and SkillsTo be successful in this role, you will possess:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to prioritize care for individual patients or groups of patients
- Proficient in delegating care appropriately and monitoring outcomes
- Ability to perform independently and as part of a healthcare team
- Computer proficiency, including experience with Windows and Microsoft Office applications
This position requires good physical and mental health, as well as flexibility to work rotating shifts and weekends. A current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check, and Adult Abuse Registry Check are conditions of employment.
Compensation and BenefitsAs an LPN with the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority, you can expect a competitive salary ranging from $61,000 to $86,000 per year, depending on your level of experience. Additional benefits include:
