About The Mexican Corner Restaurant

We are a dynamic and fast-paced restaurant, serving authentic Mexican cuisine. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Sous Chef to join our team.

Job Summary

The Executive Sous Chef will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, including menu planning, food preparation, and staff management. This is a key role that requires strong leadership and culinary skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Menu Planning: Develop and implement new menu ideas, ensuring that they are innovative, delicious, and meet the high standards of our restaurant.
  • Food Preparation: Oversee the preparation and presentation of all dishes, ensuring that they are of the highest quality and presented in a visually appealing way.
  • Staff Management: Supervise and train kitchen staff, including sous chefs, line cooks, and dishwashers, to ensure that they are working efficiently and effectively.
  • Cost Control: Manage kitchen costs, including food, labor, and supplies, to ensure that they are within budget.
  • Inventory Management: Oversee the inventory of all kitchen supplies, including food, equipment, and cleaning materials.
Requirements
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma is required for this role.
  • Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Cuisine Specialties: Mexican cuisine.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, work under pressure, attention to detail, and standing for extended periods.
  • Personal Suitability: Organized and a team player.
  • Government Programs: Recognized employer.
  • Other Benefits: Permanent employment, 40 hours per week, and English as the primary language of work.
