Senior Mechanical Equipment Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Team Lead to join our Mechanical Equipment Engineering team at BWXT Nuclear Energy Canada Inc. in Peterborough, Ontario.
Job Summary:The Team Lead, Mechanical Equipment Engineering will be responsible for leading a team of engineers in the design, development, and testing of mechanical equipment and systems for CANDU reactors. The successful candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead a team of engineers in the design, development, and testing of mechanical equipment and systems
- Provide technical direction and guidance to team members
- Develop and implement project plans and schedules
- Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery
- Develop and maintain technical documentation and reports
- Identify and mitigate project risks and issues
- B.A.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering
- Current PEO license
- 15 years of experience in design engineering in Nuclear, Aerospace, Transportation, or other highly regulated and process-based design
- 8 years of experience in design and development, with proven success in a technical leadership role
- Demonstrated ability to support leadership on complex and general engineering projects over their complete EPC life cycles
- Exposure to a broad range of interdisciplinary activities; systems design, requirements development, interface design and testing
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, understandable by a diverse audience
- Creative problem-solving skills, outstanding analytical abilities, developing leadership skills and the ability to work in a team
- Experience with 3D CAD software (preference for Inventor/Solidworks) and FEA software (ANSYS)
- Experience in the CANDU Nuclear Industry
- Familiarity with CSA Nuclear Codes and Standards
- Familiarity with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Codes and Standards
- Competency in machine design
