We are seeking a highly experienced Director of Human Resources to lead our People Services team at JRoss Retail Recruiters. This is a fantastic opportunity for an HR professional to join a rapidly growing and successful cannabis company.

Job Description

This is a leadership role that requires a seasoned HR professional to manage the day-to-day operations of our HR department. The successful candidate will oversee staffing, new store openings, HR operations, performance management, onboarding, training, and employee relations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the HR department with a team of HR Generalists, HR/Payroll Administrators, and a Retail Recruitment Lead.
  • Develop and implement strategic initiatives that align HR activities with company goals.
  • Manage wage increases, promotions, and disciplinary actions in compliance with company policies.
  • Ensure appropriate employee scheduling and approve vacation requests.
  • Conduct employee performance evaluations, provide feedback, and identify areas for development.
  • Suggest process improvements to enhance HR functions and scalability.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • Certification in HR (CPHR/SHRM-SCP).
  • A minimum of 10-15 years of progressive HR management experience, preferably within a regulated public company.
  • Demonstrated success in meeting HR and organizational strategic objectives.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage diverse HR functions and teams.
  • Extensive knowledge of Canadian employment laws and cannabis industry regulations.
Compensation

The estimated salary for this position is $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience. We offer a dynamic environment where passion, achievement, and growth are rewarded.
