We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Strategic Leader to join our team at High Tide Inc. in Calgary, AB. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for leading our People Services team and driving the day-to-day functioning of our Human Resources department.

Key Accountabilities
  • Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with company goals and objectives.
  • Lead the HR team in planning, organizing, and executing HR activities, including staffing, performance management, training, and employee relations.
  • Determine staffing requirements and oversee the internal promotion process for retail cannabis and accessories distribution business.
  • Approve vacation requests and monitor employee scheduling to maintain appropriate coverage.
  • Administer progressive disciplinary action in accordance with established procedures.
  • Develop performance goals, metrics, and targets consistent with company objectives.
  • Conduct workplace investigations and resolve conflicts among staff, including managing relationships with unions and union representatives.
  • Ensure employees adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Oversee employee complaints and incidents, including conflict resolution, accidents, health and safety concerns, work refusals, and investigations.
Requirements
  • 10-15 years of progressive HR management experience, preferably in the retail industry.
  • Degree in Human Resources Management or related field required.
  • CPHR/SHRM – SCP certification preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet strategic objectives for HR and the organization.
  • Able to make sound business decisions and evidence-based recommendations to senior management.
  • Excellent communication and coaching skills.
  • Sound knowledge of employment standards and applicable legislations across Canada and USA.
  • Working knowledge of a public company.
